Choosing

Which one should you learn first?

If your clients mostly want hydration and glow, start with skin boosters. If they come to you with tired, thinning or damaged skin and want quality improvement over a course of treatments, polynucleotides make more sense. Once you know both, you can combine them in treatment plans.

Do I need a prescriber?

It depends on the product. Some skin booster and polynucleotide products are prescription-only medicines and some are not. We go through the products used on your course so you know where you stand.

Can these count towards Level 7?

CPD courses do not count towards ProQual credit, but the skills help. The regulated way to evidence skin booster competence is the Level 6 Diploma, which also counts towards Level 7 entry.

Questions

Skin booster training FAQs

What is the difference between skin boosters and polynucleotides?
Skin boosters focus on deep hydration, elasticity and glow. Polynucleotides (PDRN) are regenerative and are used to support tissue repair and overall skin quality. They suit different clients, and some clinics offer both.
How much are the courses?
Advanced Skin Boosters is £499 and Polynucleotide (PDRN) is £499.
Is there a regulated qualification in skin boosters?
Yes. The ProQual Level 6 Diploma in Aesthetic Practice includes an optional unit, Principles and Practice of Subcutaneous Skin Booster Injections, observed at least six times.
Who can enrol?
Entry requirements vary by course and some injectable courses need a relevant medical or professional background. We confirm with you before you book.
Are skin boosters affected by the October 2026 consultation?
Skin boosters are not named on the government’s proposed list of high-risk procedures. Blood- and plasma-derived treatments such as PRP are, so read the details before investing in PRP training.
